The High Price of Gasoline

I filled up the gas tank on our car, a '96 Toyota Corolla, on Thursday. It took 9.25 gallons and cost $29.25, or $3.16 per gallon. That's the bad news. The good news is that we last filled the tank 28 days ago, in early September. In looking back, I discovered that we've been filling up once a month since last Spring, a reflection of the fact that we don't use the car very much at all. Janet rides her tricycle to work every day. I've been walking a lot since my bicycle was taken, only using the car to go to New Town for shopping or the like.

That's one of the advantages of living on a small tropical island. And yeah, no snow. Have I mentioned that before?
