Waterfront Closing

For a brief time, it looked as though the Waterfront Market mightbe saved from closing, but the rescue mission ended Wednesday night when negotiators reported to the City Commission that the deal to acquire the market as a going concern fell through.

Here's the Key West Citizen headline and lede. The rest of the story is behind the electronic barricades. Long story short, the market closes in nine days and what's inside is sold off.

It's the end of an era.
